Hi everyone!
I’m brand new here and have a few questions. My family would like to buy a new home soon. The only problem is that we’ve been struggling with trying to get our credit score back up from getting behind on some bills back in the Fall when my husband had surgery and was off work for 4 months. We are definitely going to be moving and possibly selling our current home before this Winter. So, we may have to rent for about a year before we can buy a home. I was just wondering if we had a whole year of renting, paid on time, everytime, will it help raise our credit score so that we might be better able to buy a home in the next year?

I’d be curious to hear the answer to this as well.

I think it may depend on where you live, but I’d sure hope that a year of paying rent on time would have a positive effect on someone’s credit rating.

I’m not a hundred percent, but I don’t think paying your rent on time will raise your credit score . . . I do know that not paying on time will hurt it!
