These simple rules are given here “as is” and are based on my extensive experience on the matter. So you’ve got yourself a business blog, but don’t know what you should avoid writing and keep your clients still reading? Go no further, as you’ll find what you need right here:

1. Don’t make the text long - nobody likes to read novels online.

2. Don’t use complicated language - keep it simple, you want to reach the lowest common denominator.

3. Don’t share personal stories unless they’re related to what you do - nobody wants to read about the wild things you pet parrot has been up to.

4. Don’t forget to add a picture at every post - pictures make people want to read more.

5. Don’t use marketing text - it’s boring, and it’s fake. It also hurts your business if you use it on your blog.

6. Don’t be dismissive with your clients - your client, your god. Don’t forget that.

7. Don’t turn post moderation on. You want people to be able to comment, and if there are barriers, they won’t. Moderating is a big no no.

I’ll get back if I remember more, but so far, if you stick to these, you should have a fair ammount of success.
