Do you dress professionally in business attire at all times and for all clients, or do you tailor your outfit to the type of client you are meeting with.  While I think professionalism and neatness are important, it seems that some lower income families are put off by me when I wear a suit, jewelry, and heels.  I try to tone it down a bit for a more casual business look when meeting with them.

Have you found the same thing?

I dress for the person that I am meeting.  I feel some clients are uncomfortable if they feel you are much different than they are.

You should always dress for the person you’re meeting. You want them to trust you.

I would dress up just enough to be presentable to whatever type of person I am meeting with. I mean not so luxurious but not so rugged. Just in the middle. So that it won’t be to intimidating, but not too lousy. A normal business attire would do. Minus too much jewelries, optional coat and tie.
