Blogging should only be an additional promotional media not a replacement of the old style newsletter. I think newsletters are still effective and not that easy to ignore if it’s hard copy. Usually, it is easy to ignore a lot of digital media. You just click the back button or delete button and then it’s gone. Don’t replace the hardcopy newsletter. It is still the best medium.

I believe in today’s market, using a variety of advertising tools is essential since you’re trying to appeal to different crowds with different preferences. As long as your marketing stays focused, current and goal oriented, it’s all worthwhile.

It must follow this simple rules to be effective:

- it should be constantly updated

- it should have relevant content

- it should both entertain and inform

- it shouldn’t be “fake”

As long as you are able to put relevant contents, yes blogging is worth the time. It is more than advertising. It is a communication between you and the potential clients. Plus there are lots of extra ways to earn in blogging aside from the real purpose of advertising. So in my humble opinion, yes it’s worth the time.

I think it really depends on who your target market is . . . blogs are especially good for the younger generations.  But a lot of the older people (especially those with a little money) want to hold the info in their hands.
