I noticed the most popular blogs are blogs that contain funny points of view. So in turn i bealive that would be the most successful route in making a blog

Please discuss.

It depends.  If you naturally have a sense of humor then I’d suggest showing that part of your personality in your blog posts.  I wouldn’t fake it.  I know some very successful bloggers who are all business all the time. It works for them because that is who they are.

A sense of humor goes along way in blogging. If it makes people laugh, they’ll enjoy reading it. Serious informative reviews can be just as good reading material though, as long as they contain information people want to read about.

Although funny blogs draw in people.  From what I have seen you can develop good traffic on almost any subject, just so long as the blog is active.  You need to make sure that you post frequently and once you get others visiting and responding more people will find your blog.

My blog is based on blogging humor and it’s a fairly new niche which [hopefully] I’m the most popular in (humorous/satire blog-about-blogging blogs). I get a lot of traffic from StumbleUpon and other social media on my funny stuff and that’s my biggest source of traffic.

Humor is a great topic but news and technology also rank up there in the top most popular social media topics. Still, almost any topic can be successful.

Having a sense of humor included in your articles/blog will have a good impact on your readers. And I agree with Linda that you should not fake it. It would be obvious if you are faking it and you might end up turning away your reader. You should always remember your point and not try to make it funny and make the article pointless.

I think humour can be very effective.

I think a lot of successful blogs and sites in general have come about because the person who started them was genuinely interested in a topic, and found an audience.

Yep, I agree. Humor is a good idea. Telling funny anecdotes relating to the topic would be a nice one. It will not bore the reader of the blog and might also refer others.

Also, in general, I think a large part of being entertained can involve being surprised.

I think there are examples of that out there.

Be careful not to force a sense of humor lol . . . some of us are just not funny . . . and you wouldn’t want to accidently offend anyone!
